In any industry there is always going to be information that might not be shared with the consumer (you)!
Our industry is no different!
Please take a few moments to browse this area of our web-site. You might just learn something that could save you time and money, or more importantly we could tell you how to provide more safety for you and your family.
Safety
Every piece of glass in your car is designed to protect the passengers inside. If even one mistake is made during your repair, your whole family could be in danger. The bond between your car and your new windshield could make the difference between being safe or being at risk!
Were you aware that:
More than 60% of the structural rigidity supporting the roof in a roll-over is supplied by the windshield. (hence the windshield must stay put!)
Ford Explorer involved in a rollover collision.
Windshield did it's job to support the roof.
The windshield also acts as a backboard for the passenger side air bag which deploys at over 200 mph. If the bond is weak (due to insufficient cure time, improper surface preparation, 2nd rate adhesives or a myriad of other possible factors) the windshield will not do its job as an integral part of the passenger restraint system.
When this happens it can be deadly!
To further demonstrate our point on airbag/windshield safety, take a peek at an
NTSB video of a laboratory experiment involving an intentional airbag deployment.
The car used in this experiment has had a new windshield installed 1 hour previous to the deployment. The windshield was installed using Non-FastCure adhesive.
Please keep in mind that the windshield in the video is supposed to remain in the car!
If this were to happen in your car, it could have tragic repercussions!
These are only a few of the many reasons to consider quality and safety first when scheduling your auto glass replacement!
Make the right choice!
Insurance Claims
Most Insurance companies have a special name and phone number for auto glass claims, but they fail to mention to their policyholders that this phone number actually rings at an auto glass provider/network phone bank. Most of these networks are owned and operated by very large retail auto glass replacement facilities.
When you call one of these numbers, you might be led to believe that you are speaking to your insurance company when in fact you are really speaking to a very large glass company employee. If your claim is not the most desirable to them, they will pass you on to another low priced provider who will do nothing more than give a great price to the insurance company.
The practice of steering work to one provider or another by insurance companies has become so widespread that several lawsuits are in court today to stop this practice.
Why Perfection Auto Glass, Inc. is not a Preffered Provider of the Auto Glass Network?
When a network calls us to "work out a deal" the first and only question they ask is "will you do the job for $?" and in turn offer a ridiculously low price.
We have come to the conclusion that in order to do "your" glasswork for these prices, we would have to be doing most or all of the following?
- Using cut rate/non certified installers
- Using non-original (OEM) glass
- Using non-OEM adhesives
- Offering a minimal warranty and hardly standing behind it.
Is this what you want for your vehicle?
We didn't think so!
At Perfection Auto Glass, Inc. we:- Employ only NGA certified installers
- Utilize only the state of the art (safest) glass adhesives
- Install the highest quality (including OEM) glass available
- Offer the best warranty in the business (bar none) we even warranty against stone breaks. (ask Safelite[tm] if they will do that!)
Virginia is a right to choose state:
And "you" legally have the right to choose who provides the work on your insurance claim! You can call us directly or you can call your insurance company/glass network and insist on using Perfection Auto Glass, Inc. If you experience any resistance, contact your agent immediately. He or she will want to know!
Sometimes steering tactics by glass networks will go as far as to tell the policyholder (you) that the glass shop you have requested is not on their "Preferred" list and that if you don't use a shop on their list you may not get a warranty (We have the best warranty in the business. Period.) Just ask our customers.
They might also tell you that you will have to pay money out of pocket if you don't use one of their preferred shops. This is absolutely untrue and has never happened to one of our customers!
Perfection Auto Glass, Inc. will be more than happy to handle the phone calls and paperwork with your insurance company on all of your future auto glass needs.
Give us a call to experience the difference of Perfection!
